Analysing Existing Media

In order to gain some vital/useful background knowledge of successful existing media products, I scanned into my computer an image of a magazine front cover (Glamour Magazine, Summer 2009). Referring back to my Case Study of IPC Media, I decided to analyse the cover of a different media institution's magazine, and Glamour is published by 'Conde Nast Publications', so I chose this to analyse, as I am familiar with it and am a member of it's target audience of teenage/young adult women. By carrying out this research, I am able to see how a successful magazine cover is constructed and the features it uses to draw audience attention.
